Fundamentals class introduces you to the major movements used in CrossFit, screens for pre-existing injuries, mobility or flexibility restrictions, and assesses your current fitness level to ensure proper technique and safety. Certified coaches will walk you through the basics of each movement, offering knowledge and experienced guidance every step of the way. You will be introduced to the basic barbell and gymnastic movements used in CrossFit. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or fitness newbie, the HGX CrossFit Fundamentals Program is a foundational piece to the overall programming and is required before entering into Group Classes.

Group Class Individual Membership

Crossfit classes include a skill-based warm-up, skill or strength training, the Workout of the Day (or “WOD”), and mobility work. The workouts can always be scaled so that new athletes can workout alongside veteran athletes. On some days, the WOD will be a 10-20 minute metabolic conditioning workout that combines several movements or exercises that are grouped into sets and either completed for time or in as many rounds a possible (“AMRAP”). On other days, the class will focus on a strength piece (like a 1 rep max deadlift) followed by a shorter metabolic conditioning “finisher” workout.

These class will focus on low-impact, functional movements, core strengthening, speed and agility exercises. Cardio workouts will be coupled with interval training to help develop motor skills, coordination and strength.
