Sports and Fitness have always been a passion of mine and I enjoy the smiles people have when leaving the gym after a fulfilling workout. This has driven me to expand my knowledge, obtaining my CF Level 1 and continuing the path towards USA Weightlifting and NASM.
I grew up playing competitive sports, representing California in Squash’s Howe Cup, completing many Triathlons and Marathons. For the past 4 years my training focus has been CrossFit and competing in local competitions. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with HGX's great coaches and to help you all achieve your fitness goals.

Kairina Perez Coach & CF2 Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach
kairinagodina.coach@gmail.com
Kairina first discovered CrossFit in college and immediately fell in love with the methodology. The top two things that drew her to CrossFit back then and still do now are: (1) The community; and (2) The focus on what your body can do - there's always room to progress and work towards new goals, regardless of your fitness level. After the birth of her daughter, Kairina struggled physically and mentally in her return to fitness and realized there's a huge gap in women's health and pregnancy and postpartum fitness. This grew a deep passion to bridge that gap and led her to get certified as a Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism Coach. Kairina now runs Mama Strong classes for moms and moms-to-be at HGX in addition to coaching CrossFit classes. Kairina also offers 1:1 personal training and one-time consultations for pregnant/postpartum women and those experiencing core and/or pelvic floor dysfunction (e.g., pelvic organ prolapse or "heaviness", incontinence/leaking, and diastasis recti). With both CrossFit and Mama Strong, Kairina loves spending time in the details and seeing progress unfold in the athletes -- after all, small adjustments, performed consistently over time, will result in great improvements.

I’m so glad to have found HGX. The gym has become my happy place to work off stress, connect with others and challenge myself outside my comfort zone. I am excited to learn from the best coaches and help other athletes reach their highest potential.

I continued coaching in the Bay Area, and received my L2 in 2018. My passion is to inspire my fellow athletes to continuously grow and learn and love their bodies. I seek out new tools, methods, and techniques to share with athletes, and believe that whether you're 1 week, 1 year, or 10 years into your fitness journey there will always be room to grow, learn, and achieve new things.

Shane Stent Coach & CF2
Aerobic Capacity course by Chris Hinshaw, Spin Instructor, Mobility WOD 101
After injuring my leg while playing volleyball for UC Davis, I discovered a passion for cycling. This newfound interest led me to road racing, adventure races, and challenging events like the Death Ride, with its grueling 16,000 feet of climbing over 129 miles, and LotoJa, a 200-mile journey across three states. These endurance challenges have instilled in me a deep passion for fitness. From 24-hour adventures to road races, and from the Murph workout to yoga, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my coaching. When I’m not coaching at HGX, you can find me with my wife and two kids, selling homes as an agent at Parc Agency, pursuing my master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology, or spending time with my three dogs. Despite my busy schedule, I always make time to sleep, train, and ride my bike. I love the variety and high intensity that prepare you for the unexpected, whether it's tubing with the kids, tackling a 12-hour ruck event, or simply moving things around the house. HGX satisfies my personal drive to improve while providing a competitive and supportive community. Having been involved with HGX for years, I am thrilled to coach for a community I truly cherish.
