ALSO is looking for a Commercial Counsel to work on exciting legal issues surrounding our innovative small EV technology and help guide our business forward from technology development all the way to scaled commercial deployment.
What You Will Do

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex commercial agreements, including purchasing agreements, development agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs and service agreements, all in support of ALSO's business operations and go-to-market strategy.
  • Develop and implement contract process improvements and deploy a new contract management system to improve efficiency of legal and business activities.
  • Partner with and support the supply chain team on matters pertaining to procurement, commercial negotiation, quality concerns, warranty claims and other related matters.
  • Provide accurate, timely and practical advice on a range of commercial matters.
  • Identify and implement new processes, document templates, commercial playbooks and training materials in collaboration with internal business clients.
  • Stay current on emerging legal and regulatory trends impacting ALSO's supply chain and other business units.
  • Provide support for litigation, IP, international corporate expansion, dispute resolution and other matters as they arise.

What You Will Bring
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and active member in good standing of the California Bar (or eligible to practice as a California registered in-house counsel).
  • At least three (3) years practicing as an attorney, with significant supply chain transactions experience and knowledge of manufacturing operations, procurement transactions, commercial contracts and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and provide practical solutions to internal clients.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills with a strong track-record of relationship building and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, growing global business environment.

The salary for this position ranges from $164,000 to $233,000 per year , depending on experience and qualifications.
