Situated in San Francisco’s historic Jackson Square, Lindsay and Chef Michael Tusk own and operate Quince & Co Hospitality; a collection of unique restaurant concepts ranging from a Three Starred Michelin flagship to more casual, volume-based concepts, all unified in a commitment to exemplary hospitality, creativity, and a desire to innovate and continually reinvent.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Quince & Co Events and Catering Director is responsible for overseeing and managing events for Tusk Events. 

This role spans multiple functions, including service, operations, guest relations, menu planning, purchasing, and event logistics and coordination. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground position with a strong on-site presence for the full duration of events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will work directly with Directors, General Managers, Chefs and Ownership to ensure that all events are executed to the requisite Quince & Co standards and operate in accordance with established budgetary goals.

Suitable candidates will have extensive experience with pre-event planning, event logistics and event execution. It is paramount that all candidates possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a highly organized and efficient manner as well as interface with both high profile individuals and organizations. Applicants should exhibit strong leadership qualities, a well-developed business acumen and a genuine hospitable nature. Excellent communication skills a must, oral and written. 

The scope and span of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  Service & Operations

  • Serve as the on-site service and operations lead for all assigned events, ensuring flawless execution from load-in through breakdown.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during events, coordinating in real time with FOH, BOH, bar, culinary leadership, vendors, and venue teams.
  • Lead, train, and supervise event service staff, captains, and support teams to ensure service standards align with Quince & Co’s hospitality ethos.
  • Oversee event timelines, floor plans, staffing plans, and service flow to ensure smooth guest experience and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all events are executed in accordance with approved menus, beverage programs, rentals, layouts, and client specifications.
  • Maintain high standards of guest relations, anticipating needs and resolving issues with discretion, professionalism, and warmth—particularly for VIP and high-profile clients.
  • Monitor event execution against budgeted labor, rentals, and operational costs, making real-time adjustments as needed.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements during all events.
  • Oversee event load-in/load-out, setup, breakdown, and post-event wrap-up to ensure proper handling of company assets and vendor materials.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, documenting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and communicating feedback to leadership and relevant departments.

Financial Planning and Accountability

  • Maintain accurate financial records of all catering activities
  • Track sales to budgetary goals
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years experience in luxury hospitality, specifically in events and catering
  • This role requires on-site presence in our SF office and event sites
  • Strong management and communication skills
