Job Description

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in Sanford, NC, on a contract basis for the current school year. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities within a high school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and state guidelines.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to support students academic and social development.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide integrated services.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with high school students with varying exceptionalities.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional strategies, and assistive technologies.
