Product & Design – Product Owner – Intern Program

 

Location Option(s): Cincinnati, OH

This program requires you to be in the office 40 hours a week; there are no remote options.

 

Program Duration: May 26, 2026 – July 31, 2026

This is a strict start and end date; must be available for the entire program duration – we will not accommodate dates outside of this.

SUMMARY :

 

The 84.51° Product Ownership Team is accepting applications for our Product Owner Summer Internship position, located out of either Cincinnati or Chicago.

 

We are looking for interns with a passion for learning & supporting our products through the software development process – acting as a business champion and team linguist to maximize product value alongside the development team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of contributors, grow your skills & talent, and build your professional network. As a Product Owner Intern, you’ll develop understanding of the business value our teams need to deliver – translating business requirements into product requirements to ensure the product delivers on user needs.

 

At 84.51°, we design & build products that make our users’ lives easier. We accomplish this through research, design, analysis, and testing in an iterative delivery environment – identifying the right problems to focus on and the ideal end state. The 84.51° Product Owner team uses a multidisciplinary approach (incorporating product, agile, and design principles) that allows you to leverage your strengths and improve your weaknesses in a highly constructive, highly collaborative environment.

 

INTERN PROGRAM :

 

The Intern Program duration is strictly the dates outlined at the top (interns cannot start or end early or late). Product Owner roles are open in our Cincinnati, OH Headquarters office. Interns are matched with a manager and mentor to support them during the program. Interns should expect to work in the office Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, typically between 8am-5pm. Specific team norms around working hours will be communicated by your manager upon starting. Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the 84.51° workday.

 

The Summer Internship is a 10-week program in which you’ll be placed on a business team, deliver tangible value, participate in training & events alongside your cohort, and benefit from team mentorship to support your growth.

 

Upon completion of the 10-week internship, if we believe you met objectives while demonstrating our 84.51° values, you will be offered a position to join us full-time as part of 84.51°’s Development Program after graduation (or another internship if you have another summer before graduating).

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :

 


  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree or higher from a four-year accredited university, pursuing study in a relevant field

  • Graduating May/June 2028 or sooner - must be current student at time of internship

  • Working knowledge of the product lifecycle, with experience or learning in supporting product roadmaps and development

  • Capacity to effectively collaborate with cross-functional software development teams in an agile environment

  • Ability to balance business priorities against design/user needs while delivering against product roadmaps

  • Stakeholder management skills – effective in building and managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change

  • Problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills

  • Comfort with ambiguity – remains confident, positive, and resourceful in the face of ambiguity and unexpected results; recovers quickly from setbacks

  • Verbal and written communication skills – ability to translate between business and technical

  • Technical acumen – grasps the technical details to lead and support a team; knowledge of software development processes and principles is a plus.
