Occupational Therapist (OT) at Interim HealthCare summary:

A Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT) provides personalized occupational therapy to patients in their homes, helping them regain independence and perform daily activities despite illness or injury. They assess patient needs, develop therapy goals, recommend adaptive equipment, and educate patients and families. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary home health team to optimize patient outcomes and enhance home safety.

Home Health Occupational Therapist (OT)

Opportunities in: Erie, Firestone, Fredrick, Dacono, and surrounding areas

Compensation: $75-150 per visit, PLUS travel and mileage compensation

Status: Part Time (minimum expectation of five (5) visits per week.)

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide occupational therapy to patients unable to perform daily tasks due to an illness or injury
• Work as part of a home health team which may include an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT and SLP, focused on the patient’s plan of care and personal goals
• Assess patient, observe deficits, establish therapy goals and document progress
• Assist patient with exercises to improve fine motor skills and coordination
• Suggest adaptive equipment such as grab bars and shower chairs to offer added support
• Assess fall risks and introduce strategies to improve home safety
• Educate patient and family on plan of care, exercises, goals and self-care

A few must-haves for Home Health Occupational Therapists:

• Current Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in the state of Colorado
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification (demonstration course required)
• One year of OT experience - Home health care preferred.
• Meets the requirements of federal and/or state criminal and abuse background checks where applicable.
• Pass a background check and drug test (we are required to test for THC)
• No Covid Vaccination Required
