Signature Healthcare, a Charlotte, NC concierge primary care medical practice founded in 2003, is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our growing team located in the SouthPark area. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented team player who serves as one of the first points of contact for patients and visitors, greeting them in a professional and well-spoken manner.
Responsibilities
• Answer and direct phone calls via a multi-line telephone
• Schedule patient appointments in electronic medical record (Athena)
• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms
• Scan items to charts and handle distribution of mail and faxes
• Collect payments and balance collection drawer/bucket daily
• Maintain appearance of waiting and common areas
• Collect and update patient insurances and card copies, as well as demographics updates
• Use of computer for electronic scheduler and records, as well as Microsoft Suite for documents and Outlook email
Qualifications
• Excellent computer skills required
• Superb phone etiquette required
• General understanding of healthcare insurance and how to interpret insurance card information
• Relevant work experience in a reception/secretarial role, preferably in a medical office
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Professional appearance and speaking voice
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare facility as a receptionist, biller, or similar front office role. Experience using an EMR is preferred.
Work Location: Charlotte, NC
Job Status: Full-Time 40 hours/week, 5 days/week, no weekends, no after-hours, and no holidays
