As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you'll take a pivotal role in delivering care that embodies our core values and mission. After passing the FPGEE and TOEFL, you will be eligible for this role, allowing you to complete the necessary US Internship hours to further develop your pharmacy skills and knowledge. This position includes a blended learning experience to enhance your pharmacy education. You are required to complete your internship within 18 months and will be equipped to complete all necessary Pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days following the internship.

Working under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will play a significant role in ensuring a safe and effective Retail Pharmacy environment, delivering exceptional care to each patient. This involves:

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Welcome each customer courteously, in-store and at the drive-thru
  • Assist pharmacy and front store customers with questions and concerns
  • Answer phone calls warmly and professionally
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Remove barriers to improve customer experiences
  • Handle transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Engage with customers to create personalized moments during their visits

Regulatory:

  • Ensure customer/patient confidentiality as per HIPAA and company standards
  • Communicate with customers while upholding their privacy regarding drug information
  • Adhere to all federal and state laws, rules, and CVS policies
  • Complete licensure requirements within the assigned timeframe

Pharmacy Operations:

  • Follow CVS workflow standards diligently
  • Process prescriptions with precision
  • Resolve third-party issues and manage claims as necessary
  • Ensure operational readiness for prescription pick-ups
  • Access and manage information efficiently
  • Maintain inventory integrity
  • Support the pharmacist in dispensing and reviewing compliance

Counseling (under licensed pharmacist supervision):

  • Offer to counsel patients and guide them to the pharmacist when needed
  • Handle appropriate medical inquiries
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
  • Collect patient medical histories where applicable

Leadership:

  • Keep communication open with Field Management and Corporate
  • Engage in required store meetings
  • Foster a clean and organized pharmacy environment
  • Support appropriate staffing schedules
  • Assist in training and developing Pharmacy Support Staff
  • Recognize and celebrate achievements
  • Complete all required training programs

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent from a Non-US accredited pharmacy school
  • Active Pharmacy Intern license in your state

Preferred:

  • Certification to administer immunizations

Prior Relevant Work Experience:

Required: 0 to 3 years

Preferred: 3 to 5 years
