Successfully passing the FPGEE and TOEFL will qualify you to apply for this role, which will enable you to fulfill your required US internship hours. This experience will build upon your pharmacy education and enhance your knowledge, skills, and abilities. The internship must be completed within 18 months and will prepare you for the Pharmacist licensure exams.

While working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment that provides exceptional care to each patient. Your responsibilities will include the following:

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Welcome each customer courteously in-store and at the drive-thru
  • Assist pharmacy and front store customers with inquiries and concerns
  • Answer phone calls with a friendly demeanor
  • Collaborate with others to resolve issues for maximum customer satisfaction
  • Overcome obstacles to enhance customer experiences
  • Process transactions efficiently
  • Engage customers to create meaningful interactions

Regulatory:

  • Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company standards
  • Communicate with customers while safeguarding their confidential information
  • Comply with all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
  • Follow CVS policies and standard operational procedures at all times
  • Fulfill licensure requirements within the designated timeframe

Pharmacy Operations:

  • Adhere to CVS workflow standards
  • Process prescriptions accurately
  • Resolve insurance claim issues
  • Oversee prescription pick-up procedures
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Assist with drug order management
  • Deliver healthcare services as permitted by regulations
  • Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing and review processes

Counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist:

  • Offer counseling and direct customers to the pharmacist as needed
  • Address medical queries as appropriate
  • Engage with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
  • Gather relevant medical history when necessary
  • Implement appropriate pharmacist responsibilities according to law

Leadership:

  • Communicate effectively with management
  • Participate in required operational meetings
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment
  • Support staff training and development initiatives
  • Recognize and celebrate team successes
  • Complete all required training programs

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a Non-US accredited pharmacy school
  • Active Pharmacy Intern license in the applicable state

Preferred:

  • Eligibility to administer immunizations

Prior Relevant Work Experience:

Required: 0 to 3 years

Preferred: 3 to 5 years

Essential Qualifications and Functions:

  • Graduate from a Non-US Accredited pharmacy school before entering the CVS training program
  • Obtain Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing US internship hours

Pay Range:

The expected pay range for this position is:

$32.50 - $42.00
