As a graduate from a non-accredited pharmacy program outside the U.S., you will be at the forefront of our mission, embodying our values and demonstrating genuine care for our patients. Upon successfully passing the FPGEE and TOEFL, you can apply for this role to complete your required U.S. internship hours, enriching your pharmacy education and honing your skills. You will follow a tailored learning plan that will apply your existing pharmacy knowledge. You must complete your internship within 18 months and be equipped in patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, preparing you for all required Pharmacist licensure exams within 120 days after finishing your U.S. internship hours.

In your role as a Non-U.S. Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, contributing significantly to a safe and effective Retail Pharmacy environment that prioritizes exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service
    • Warmly greet each customer in-person and at the drive-thru.
    • Assist pharmacy and front store customers with their inquiries.
    • Answer phone calls with a friendly greeting.
    • Reach out for additional help when required to maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Remove obstacles to enhance customer experiences.
    • Handle approved register transactions efficiently.
    • Engage with customers to create personalized, heartfelt moments.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Uphold customer confidentiality in line with HIPAA and CVS standards.
    • Ensure communication respects customers' confidential information.
    • Follow all federal and state laws and CVS policies.
    • Meet state and federal licensure requirements promptly.
  • Pharmacy Operations
    • Adhere to CVS workflow and maintain established standards.
    • Process prescriptions accurately, including labeling and managing third-party rejections.
    • Facilitate inventory management policies for replenishment.
    • Assist in drug order management as permissible.
    • Deliver additional healthcare services as allowed.
    • Support supervising pharmacist in dispensing and compliance monitoring.
  • Counseling Under Supervision
    • Provide counseling and direct inquiries to the pharmacist as needed.
    • Field medical questions when appropriate.
    • Engage with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal care.
    • Solicit patient medical history to provide accurate advice.
  • Leadership
    • Communicate with management as required.
    • Participate in operational meetings.
    • Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
    • Assist with scheduling according to business needs.
    • Coordinate the training and development of Pharmacy Support Staff.
    • Celebrate successes within the team.

Education Requirements:

  • Required:
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent from a non-U.S. accredited pharmacy school.
    • Active Pharmacy Intern license in the operating state.
  • Preferred:
    • Certification in immunization eligibility.

Experience:

  • Required: 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred: 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a non-U.S. accredited pharmacy school before beginning the training program at CVS.
  • Obtain Pharmacist licensure within 120 days after completing U.S. intern hours.
