Overview Fitness Instructor / Fitness Trainer role at Planet Fitness . Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF) and assisting new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing on proper use of equipment. Responsibilities Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule. Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment. Promote the Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance and supporting their fitness journeys while upholding club policies. Perform regular walks of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience and quickly address issues as identified. Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic. Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner and elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed. Front Desk & Club Operations Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with questions. Check members into the system. New member sign-up and tours for prospective members. Facilitate updates to members’ accounts. Maintain the neatness and cleanliness of the club, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and spa amenities, and addressing safety/policy issues as needed. Qualifications Previous Fitness Trainer/Instructor experience preferred. Nationally Certified Training Certificate required. Passion for fitness and health, upbeat and positive attitude. Punctuality and reliability, and exceptional customer service skills. Strong listening, empathy, problem-solving, and diplomacy in interactions. High School diploma/GED equivalent preferred; must be 18 years or older. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift; continual talking in person or on the phone. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Move through various positions (bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, twisting) to accomplish tasks.
