About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its statewide, nonpartisan membership organization. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a transformative mandate, with a focus on resetting relevance and rebuilding prominence. This CEO-caliber role is not about lobbying but rather about serving as a neutral, CEO-focused convening and insight engine. The Executive Director will be responsible for designing and leading high-value CEO convenings, turning policy complexity into clear guidance, and fostering a trusted hub for leaders to align and engage. The role requires a catalytic, trusted convener who can elevate the organization's relevance, re-energize participation, and provide actionable digests from various educational and legislative sources. The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position at the company will have the poise and judgment to work effectively with system heads and campus presidents, while also being hands-on with the essential operations of the organization. This includes a blend of external leadership, member engagement, and light association operations. The role is pivotal in continuing to provide crisp, trusted guidance and in hosting programs that are of high value to the higher education community. The Executive Director will be expected to have a strong background in educational leadership, a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, and the ability to work in a lean, agile environment. A commitment to the values of the organization, including neutrality and a focus on the needs of its members, is essential.
