Embedded software engineer - firmware design job at Raytheon Mckinney, TX, US

Job Description

Salary: $68,900 - 131,100 per year Requirements:

A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software development
Proficiency in developing, testing, and integrating real-time software applications using C++ or similar languages
Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Perl
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is preferred
Experience with development on Linux, VxWorks, or other Real-Time Operating Systems
Skilled in collaborating in lab environments with physical hardware, such as test benches or simulators
Strong ability to understand and navigate complex systems and code bases
Background in Scrum techniques within Agile software development processes
Knowledge of DevSecOps pipeline implementation and continuous integration/continuous delivery methods using Test-Driven Development
Hands-on experience with Git for version control and GitLab for repository management

Responsibilities:

Assist in the requirements gathering, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software and tools
Design, implement, test, and document software solutions
Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems
Collaborate with project managers and other engineering professionals
Work on defined scope, schedule, and expectations for problems
Adhere to established development practices and maintain software product configuration management
May require occasional travel for business-related activities
