The Opportunity

As a Business Insurance Agent - Intermediate , you will thrive in an inbound sales environment, advising business owners on insurance and risk management. You’ll utilize a comprehensive suite of Commercial Insurance Products to tailor solutions for each member and non-member’s unique risk profile.

Your expertise in the insurance marketplace, along with strong relationships with underwriters, will enable you to effectively place coverage for our members' businesses.

Expect to handle an average of 7-10 incoming calls daily, collaborating with various insurance carriers, and conducting outbound follow-ups with customers.

We provide 13-15 weeks of training to ensure you are well-equipped to support our members independently. Training hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Central Time, while work hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Central Time.

This position is fully remote within the continental U.S., with occasional business travel. It is a full-time, hourly, non-commission role.

What You'll Do:

  • Utilize a consultative approach to understand customer needs, build trust, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Foster relationships between members, non-members, and insurance carriers, leveraging your technical knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance standards to minimize Errors & Omissions (E&O) exposure through accurate documentation.
  • Classify businesses and deliver precise risk management solutions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to enhance your technical and financial understanding.
  • Employ Agency Management Systems and CRM tools to select appropriate products and carriers.
  • Calculate Insurance to Value (ITV) for diverse property types, ensuring accurate replacement values.
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in line with compliance policies.

What You Have:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
  • 1 year of insurance sales and service experience, preferably in a commercial insurance or broker agency setting.
  • Valid Property and Casualty insurance license for your home state, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
  • Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required.

What Sets You Apart:

  • 2+ years of experience in Commercial Lines Insurance, focusing on new business.
  • Experience quoting and binding directly with insured clients.
  • Familiarity with Agency Management Systems and/or Salesforce.
  • Experience in a Commercial Lines multiple carrier environment.
  • Knowledge of writing Commercial lines across multiple states.
  • Experience in a call center environment.
  • Active P&C General Lines License for your home state.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $43,680.00 - $76,610.00 .
