Job Description
Position Summary:
Performs a variety of secretarial/administrative duties in support of the leadership within nursing administration and the emergency services department. Maintains utmost in confidentiality. Actively communicates with providers, interdepartmental staff, and management. Assist wherever and whenever possible by assuming delegated responsibility and exercising flexibility within the scope of the position.
Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.
Education, License & Cert:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Three years of administrative experience with one year in a healthcare organization. Proven strong organizational and communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Must have knowledge of office management techniques, practices, computer systems, and applications. Knowledge of research methods and procedures sufficient to compile data and prepare reports. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of purchasing, budgeting, bookkeeping, and inventory control. Skill in the operation of office equipment. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to communicate and present information. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to work independently.
Essential Functions:
1. Supports Chief Nursing Officer and patient care department managers with operational activities of Patient Care Division.
2. Supports Chief of Emergency Medicine at Corning Hospital to manage daily operational activity of the emergency department.
3. Assists Emergency Medical Director and Nursing Management Team with administrative projects.
4. Completes general office duties including answers office phone, schedules meetings, maintains calendars, and reserves conference rooms. Files
correspondence and materials of a general nature. Assists in compiling financial, statistical data, reports and presentations as assigned.
5. Prepares and distributes monthly quality physician reports.
6. Assists in maintaining accurate records (meeting minutes, physician reviews, quality reports, and correspondence).
7. Responsible for ordering office supplies and maintaining inventory.
8. Maintains payroll timecards for timely submission for physicians, Emergency Room staff, and Nurse Supervisors. Maintains ATA for APP payroll.
9. Responsible for outoftown accommodations for travel and overnight stays for full time staff.
10. Coordinates with medical director and maintains physician and APP schedule with changes as needed. May encompass communication and coordination with outside staffing companies
11. Coordinates onboarding of new physicians and APPs as a liaison to Provider Services and Credentialing Services. Continues as a liaison for maintenance of education requirements and credential requirements.
12. Assists with staffing and scheduling for the nursing departments as requested.
13. Builds cooperative working relationships with employees, managers, providers, and others.
14. Provides coverage for Executive Assistant in Administration as required.
Other Duties:

3. Responds to changes in work schedules as necessary, recognizing priorities and using time productively.
4. Handles confidential matters concerning clinic policies and practices.
5. Performs other related work as assigned.
Pay Range $23.06 - $35.00/hour, DOE (A18)
